Okay, I know I haven't been on LJ lately but I have been soooooooo busy. After all my domestic duties were done, I played.Actually I went out for lunch with my friend, Jo. For those of you who don't know, Jo ,is a lady & so I am not cheating on my hubby.hee-hee.
Then last night my hubby & I went out for dinner with our friends, Dick & Kerry. After that, we went to see the Rythm of the Rails. It was a musical with local talented people.Even the kids were involved, singing & dancing. It was great. They had a good Barbershop quartet too & seeing as how I used to date a Barbershopper, I enjoyed the music. Tonight my son & daughter-in-law & my 2 grandsons are coming up for the weekend. Tomorrow we are all going over to see Elvis.I know, he's dead, but there is a very good Elvis impersonator that performs around here. Another couple we don't get to see very often is going with us so it should be a fun evening.I hope the grandkids like it. They are almost 9 & 11 years old so I'm not sure, but it will be a good experience for them.
Well, I hope everyone who reads this has a fun weekend too.
Later...

Barbershop Quartets

I was fortunate to be able to go to San Francisco many years ago to the international Barbershop Convention. All the Barbershopers from all around the country gathered in Union Square & sang the Battle Hymm of the Republic & I was right there in the middle of it all. I still get goose bumps just thinking of it.It was soooo awesome...
There were 4 guys from Minneapolis, Minnesota who won the international championship many years ago. They called themselves, " The Happiness Emporium"..They were in a league all by themselves, they were that great...I will never forget that..What fond memories..

Re: Barbershop Quartets

Barbershop quartets used to show up on the variety shows when I was a kid, and often on the Lawrence Welk show, one of the few things I like about that show LOL My mother loved that show, but only, I think, cuz she was friends with Myron Floren the accordianist :)

I miss variety shows too LOL

My brother and brother-in-law were in Barbershop Quartetts for years. You are one busy woman, which is very cool.

You enjoy your weekend, as well.
